The Perspective Playlist: October 2026

What others see from the outside is never the whole person. “Through Glass” fits October’s playlist because the image we present can become another surface people look through without seeing what’s underneath.

Sometimes the distance between who we are and who we’ve learned to present becomes so wide that even we start wondering which version is real. “You’re Somebody Else” fits that space perfectly.

“Secrets” fits October’s playlist because there can be real relief in setting down the carefully managed version of ourselves and admitting that being known requires letting some of the unpolished truth be seen.

“Second Chance” fits October’s playlist because becoming more fully ourselves can mean disappointing expectations built around an earlier version of us and choosing a direction that may not make sense to everyone else.

“From Down Here” fits the playlist because the way we see ourselves can shift depending on where we’re standing, especially when insecurity, comparison, or someone else’s perspective has distorted the view.

“Jealousy” fits the playlist because jealousy, resentment, anger, and judgment become easier to understand only after we’re willing to admit they belong to us in the first place.

“Anti-Hero” fits the playlist because self-awareness can mean recognizing motives, impulses, and contradictions we’d rather assign to someone else without turning those flaws into a permanent verdict on who we are.

“jealousy, jealousy” looks at how comparison can stir up envy and resentment while also showing how easily someone else’s life can become the measuring stick for our own.

“Half a Man” explores how the parts of ourselves we struggle to accept can become tangled up with the belief that we are somehow incomplete, inadequate, or less worthy because those parts exist.

“A Symptom of Being Human” asks whether some of the thoughts, feelings, and contradictions we work so hard to hide are really evidence that something is wrong with us, or simply evidence that we’re human.

“Dancing With Your Shadows” suggests that not everything within us needs to be conquered or erased. Sometimes living more honestly means recognizing that light and shadow have always occupied the same person.

“Wish You Pain” looks at how pain can bring out anger, resentment, bitterness, and other reactions we’d rather bury, while curiosity can sometimes reveal what shame would make us miss.

“Maybe” leaves room between recognition and judgment. It reminds us that our first explanation for why we feel, react, or behave a certain way may not be the whole story.

“What It’s Like” reminds us how incomplete our judgments can be when we don’t know what someone has lived through, and asks whether we extend that same curiosity to ourselves.

“Try” looks at how much energy we can spend becoming who we think we’re supposed to be, and what gets lost when we stop asking whether those parts of ourselves ever needed permission to exist.

“Scars” looks at how the things that hurt us can become woven into how we see ourselves, while reminding us that acknowledging those scars doesn’t mean letting them define the whole person carrying them.
