The origin story
A mixtape feeling for modern listening
Link Tapes began with a simple feeling: sharing music used to mean more than sending a link. A mixtape could say what words missed; it held a mood, a memory, a late-night joke, a road-trip promise, or a small gift for someone who mattered. Today the songs are everywhere, but the act of sharing them is scattered across apps, chats, algorithms, and half-forgotten threads. We built Link Tapes to bring that human thread back. A tape is not just a playlist. It is a shared room where friends, families, hosts, creators, DJs, and communities can add songs together, react in the moment, leave comments, and watch a soundtrack take shape. One tape can carry many platforms, many tastes, and many people, turning separate listening habits into something alive, social, and remembered.

- We make music collaborative. Create a tape, invite people in, and build the queue together without turning the host into the whole show.
- We respect how people listen. Bring tracks from YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud, and supported sources into one shared tape. Spotify playlist export is available in limited preview; Deezer and SoundCloud don't support export.
- We believe discovery is better through people. Algorithms can help, but a song from someone you trust lands differently.
- We keep sharing simple. Guests can join quickly, while signed-in listeners can save their history, shape a profile, and return to favorite moments.
- We design for warmth. Link Tapes should feel playful, beautiful, and easy, with a little mixtape nostalgia and a modern sense of care.
